Lady's story

Lady almost didn’t make it out. When her owner was admitted into assisted care, she was left behind – impounded, alone, and overwhelmed.

We were told she was barking nonstop. Reactive. Not doing well. Plans were already being made to euthanize her.

But something didn’t sit right.

So Debbie followed up again… and the truth came through. Lady wasn’t aggressive. She wasn’t unmanageable.

She was scared. Confused. And completely out of her world.

She leashed up easily. She was friendly. She just needed a chance. So we made a plan – and together, a small group of people came together to change her story. And because of that…

Lady is here. 🩷

Personality

Within minutes of meeting her, it was clear – this is not the dog she was labeled to be.

Lady is:

  • Sweet

  • Smart

  • Gentle with treats

  • People-loving

  • Playful (she LOVES fetch)

  • Calm and adaptable

She has a quiet confidence about her… the kind that makes you pause and look again.

She listens. She engages. She wants to connect. Not chaotic. Not overwhelming. Just… good.

Ideal home

Lady would thrive in a home that sees her for who she truly is – not who she was thought to be.

  • Someone who will give her stability and routine

  • A home that will continue to build her confidence

  • A family who will include her in their life and activities

  • Someone who appreciates a dog that can be both playful and calm

She’s athletic, intelligent, and ready to be someone’s companion.

Why you'll love Lady

Because she’s proof that first impressions aren’t always the truth. Because she stayed soft in a situation that could have hardened her. Because she didn’t shut down – she waited.

And when given the chance… She showed exactly who she is. A good dog. A loving dog. A dog who was worth saving all along.
