Cody’s story began with fear, pain, and survival.
A kind dog lover, Maddison Boden, spotted him running terrified down a California road and refused to give up on him. For six long hours, she stayed by his side – offering water, keeping him safe, and waiting until animal control finally arrived.
It was clear Cody had endured significant trauma. He had chewed through his restraints so badly that he later became sick from swallowing pieces of them, and he had also been hit by a car. Frightened and confused, he was eventually caught with a catchpole and taken to a shelter where no one ever came looking for him.
But Cody’s story didn’t end there. Dedicated advocates worked tirelessly to share his story, find rescue support, and secure a foster home willing to give him a chance. And once he finally landed in safety, everything changed.
