Zeus's story
Some dogs make an impression the moment you meet them. Zeus is one of those dogs.
When Zeus arrived at Charlie's Angels Rescue, he came with very little. No collar. No leash. No bed. No toys. Just a gentle heart and the hope of a second chance.
From the very beginning, there was something incredibly special about him. Wherever his people go, Zeus quietly follows along, content simply being nearby. He's calm, comforting, and has a peaceful presence that's difficult to put into words.
At his veterinary appointment, Zeus charmed everyone he met. He handled everything with grace, happily accepted his well-earned Dutch Bros pup cup afterward, and then settled in for a nap on a giant dog bed – as if he already knew he was finally safe.
Now, at nine years old, Zeus is looking for a family who will cherish him through his golden years and give him the love he's always deserved.
Personality
Zeus is the definition of a gentle giant.
He's a low-energy companion who enjoys life's simple pleasures – soft beds, leisurely car rides, being brushed, splashing in the water, and spending time with the people he loves. He even finds entertainment in watching and playing with bugs, reminding everyone that there's still plenty of puppy hidden inside this distinguished gentleman.
Affection comes naturally to Zeus. He's happiest simply being with his people, quietly following them from room to room or settling down nearby while they relax. His calm, goofy personality makes it impossible not to fall in love with him.
He's also potty trained, crate trained, leash trained, rides beautifully in the car, and has lived successfully with cats, children, chickens, and livestock.
Special considerations
When Zeus arrived in rescue, we noticed changes in the way he walked. His previous owners shared that they'd first noticed changes in his hips about a year ago.
Our veterinarian believes Zeus is a good candidate for neutering, and while he's under anesthesia, we'll also be taking hip X-rays to better understand what's causing his mobility changes. We'll update his profile as we learn more.
Despite this, Zeus doesn't let it dampen his spirit. He continues to enjoy life with quiet contentment and takes each day as it comes.
Ideal home
Zeus is looking for a peaceful home where he can simply be part of the family.
He doesn't need endless adventures or hours of exercise. He's happiest with a comfortable place to nap, people to love, and someone who appreciates the quiet companionship only a senior dog can offer.
Whether you're relaxing at home, heading out for a drive, or spending time in the yard, Zeus will be right there beside you – and that's exactly where he wants to be.
