Honey's story
Honey arrived in Idaho from California after spending five long months at Riverside San Jacinto waiting for someone to give her a chance.
And despite all that time spent in the shelter system, Honey arrived with her spirit completely intact. This beautiful girl is every bit as sweet as her name. 🤍
One of the first things people notice about Honey is her missing ear. We may never know exactly what happened, but honestly, it only makes her even more special and unforgettable.
She appears to be an Anatolian Shepherd mix and is still very much in that lovable puppy stage—full of curiosity, joy, and excitement about the world around her.
Personality
Honey is a genuinely happy dog.
She loves everyone she meets and approaches life with confidence, affection, and playful enthusiasm. She enjoys other dogs, rides wonderfully in the car, and has not had a single accident in her kennel since arriving in rescue.
She has already seen cows and is curious about them, but calm and quiet. While she hasn’t been introduced to cats yet, she continues to show a very balanced, easygoing temperament overall.
Honey does great around kids, though like many young dogs, she’s still learning not to jump when she gets excited. She simply loves being around people and wants to soak up all the attention and affection she can.
What stands out most about Honey is how emotionally open and resilient she is. She doesn’t seem weighed down by fear, trauma, or triggers despite everything she has been through.
She is simply full of love.
Ideal home
Honey would thrive in a home ready to continue guiding her through puppyhood with consistency, structure, and love.
She would enjoy an active family, another playful dog companion, or people who want a loyal best friend to include in everyday life and adventures.
Because she is still young, continued training and boundaries will help her grow into an incredible adult dog—but she already shows all the signs of being something truly special.
Why you'll love Honey
Honey has the kind of soul that instantly makes people smile.
She’s affectionate, playful, resilient, and genuinely happy to be alive. From her adorable one-ear look to her joyful personality, she leaves a lasting impression everywhere she goes. More than anything, Honey feels like a dog who is simply ready to love and be loved.
And whoever becomes her person is going to end up with a very, very good dog. 🤍
