Lupua's story
Lupua is a striking young Belgian Malinois / German Shepherd mix with a huge personality and an even bigger heart.
His current owners love him deeply, but due to significant physical health challenges, they can no longer safely manage such a strong, high-energy dog. Making the decision to seek a new home for Lupua has been incredibly difficult, but they want him to have the active, structured life he deserves.
Now, Charlie’s Angels Rescue is helping Lupua find the right person – someone experienced with working breeds who understands dogs like him and is ready to help him continue growing into the incredible companion he’s meant to be.
Personality
Lupua is affectionate, playful, and deeply bonded to his people. He absolutely loves connection and wants to be involved in whatever you’re doing.
When he’s excited, he’ll bounce around happily, shower you with kisses, and even offer his paw as his own special way of saying “I love you.” Despite his size and energy, he truly believes he’s a lap dog. ❤️
He’s a smart, active boy who thrives when both his body and mind are engaged. Balls are his absolute obsession — especially KONG toys – and he loves fetch, tug-of-war, sniffing games, treat puzzles, and anything that gives him a job to do. He also loves snow days, sunbathing, and relaxing in the shade after playtime.
Like many working breeds, Lupua can become overstimulated in busy or unfamiliar situations. He may bark at new people initially, but once he warms up, he usually just wants to play and be friends.
Training & needs
Lupua already knows several commands including sit, stay, and down, and he’s eager to continue learning. He is both potty trained and crate trained, but he will need continued work on leash manners, as he can pull when excited.
Because of his strength, energy level, and sensitivity, Lupua will do best with a confident, experienced owner who understands working breeds and can provide structure, consistency, exercise, and ongoing training.
He has no bite history, though he did nip once during an overwhelming meet-and-greet situation without breaking skin. For that reason, thoughtful introductions and good handling skills will be important for his success.
Ideal home
Lupua would thrive in an active home with someone who appreciates intelligent, driven dogs and enjoys training, engagement, and adventure.
He needs more than just exercise — he needs connection, leadership, and mental stimulation. In the right home, Lupua has the potential to become an incredibly loyal and rewarding companion.
Why you'll love Lupua
Because underneath all that energy is a dog who simply loves deeply.
Lupua is goofy, affectionate, intelligent, and full of life. He wants to be someone’s partner, adventure buddy, and best friend — and with the right person by his side, he’s going to absolutely thrive. 🤍
