Lucky's story
Lucky was just hours away from euthanasia.
Not because he did anything wrong – but because the shelter simply ran out of space.
Found as a stray. No one came looking for him. But this time… someone said yes.
With the help of an amazing rescue effort (thank you, Tamara! 🙌), Lucky made his way to Boise and into a foster home—where his new life officially began.
Safe. Seen. And finally given the chance he deserved all along.
Personality
Lucky is exactly what his name suggests – pure, happy energy wrapped in the sweetest little soul.
He’s playful, but not wild. Affectionate, but not clingy. Curious, but not overwhelming. And the best part?
He smiles. Not just in spirit—he actually smiles! 😄
He’s the kind of dog that brings a lightness with him… the kind that makes you laugh without trying and feel instantly at ease.
So far, he’s:
-
Great with other dogs
-
Calm and easy in the car (just hangs out in the backseat)
-
Settling in like he’s always belonged
And as if that wasn’t enough – he looks almost identical to his foster sister, which somehow makes his story feel even more meant to be.
Ideal home
Lucky would thrive in a home that’s ready to help a young dog continue growing into his best self.
-
A home with another dog would be a big bonus
-
A family that will give him guidance, structure, and consistency
-
Someone who will embrace both his playful puppy side and his sweet, gentle nature
He’s still learning the basics, but he’s off to a beautiful start.
Why you'll love Lucky
Because he’s joy, in its simplest form. Because he almost didn’t get this chance – and now he’s making the most of it.
Because he’s the kind of dog who will grow with you, laugh with you, and quietly become part of everything you do.
And because somewhere along the way… You’ll realize you didn’t just rescue Lucky. He rescued something in you, too.
